moving forward

As far as my last post goes, I'm done. That's all I have to say about that.

Things finally started to come together. I decided this last week that NAU up in Flagstaff is where I belong. So, come this fall I will be rooming with my best friend of the last 11 years, Chels, in the gorgeous northern part of my home state to study choral music education. Y' know, this just feels right. I was having a really stressful time in between trying to get myself to Florida, figure out finances, where scholarships would come from, etc. And then my parents heard I would lose all of my in-state scholarships and they said, "Wait. Hold up." I took a breather, walked out of my mom's room, came back in 10 minutes later and said, "I feel like I'm supposed to go to NAU. That's where I'm supposed to be." Within moments of having said that, I felt relief. Everything is going to be alright.

Right now I am just praying and crossing my fingers that everything else falls into place. Housing is full for the fall, but Chels already has dibs on her dorm and is going to manipulate her way into getting me for a roomie. My parents are hoping I find some kind of last-minute $$ to help pay for room & board as well as books. We'll see if that comes around. I'm trying.

Summer is a welcome break and I am enjoying waking up at 9 AM or later. Today it was nearly 11 when I rolled out of bed. And man, it was nice. I'd like to keep up with that. (;
